Prawdziwy hardkor. Nie przypominam sobie filmu z tak ogromną dawką metafizyki i jednocześnie tak ogromną dawką pornografii. Dodatkowo pewnie jak zwykle pół widowni wyjdzie z nudów. Nowy klasyk - trzeba znać.

Film description

Dumont went to America with the intention of confronting his own vision of cinema with the Hollywood myth. He planned to make a movie called The End, predicting a decline of pop culture, narration and realist acting. But when he saw the Joshua Tree National Park in the southern California desert, he was struck with a haunting vision. And, thus, instead of The End, he filmed Twentynine Palms, in which he does not abandon the radical artist’s perspective, despite using the reference frames of popular cinematic styles – American horror gore, as well as elements of erotic and road movie genres.

Two lovers who have met only recently, David and Katia, have come to the city of Twentynine Palms in order to find fitting scenery for David’s photography. As the couple make daily excursions into Joshua Tree Park, the plot revolves around the growing love between the two characters. David the American and Katia the Russian talk together in broken French, making communication a challenge, both in everyday situations and in their shared eroticism. Their growing tension only hints at difficulties until a surprising development impels a final confrontation.
