Woody Allen
Real name: Allan Stewart Konigsberg. Born in 1935 in New York. At age 15, he started selling jokes to local papers and then moved into standup comedy until, in 1965, when he wrote the script What's New, Pussycat and directed the film What’s Up, Tiger Lily? (1966). Since Annie Hall (1977), Allen has been considered (especially in Europe) one of the world’s most important film directors. He makes one film each year and has played the lead in many of them. Allen has been the laureate of three Oscars, two Caesars, and numerous awards at film festivals in Cannes, Venice, and Berlin.
