Allegro ma non troppo

A music video for Stanisław Sojka’s song based upon Allegro ma non troppo, a poem by Wisława Szymborska, it is a riot of surprising ideas and a collage of diverse animation techniques. Life, you’re beautiful (I say) // you just couldn’t get more fecund, // more befrogged or nightingale-like, // more anthillful or sproutspouting. // I’m trying to court life’s favor, // to get into its good graces, // to anticipate its whims. // I’m always the first to bow // with my humble, reverent face, writes the poet (trans. Stanisław Barańczak and Clare Cavanagh).

A music video to a song by Jorgos Skolias and Tie Break, a group established in 1977 by guitarist Janusz ‘Yanina’ Iwański and bassist Krzysztof Majchrzak. The group continues to performing occasionally, including projects with numerous excellent jazz and rock musicians, e.g, Tomasz Stańko, Stanisław Sojka, Andrzej Urny, Włodzimierz Kiniorski, Antoni ‘Ziut’ Gralak, Marcin and Mateusz Pospieszalski.
