Berlinale 2011 Awards handed out

According to expectations, the Iranian film Nader and Simin. Separation by Asghar Farhadi won the Golden Bear Award at the 61st Berlin International Film Festival. The Silver Bears went to the actors starring in the film. The film will also appear in Poland (distributed by Gutek Film).

The Silver Bear Award - the Jury's Grand Prix and the FIPRESCI critics' award was won by the New Horizons favourite, the hero of retrospective 4 NH, Béla Tarr for The Turin Horse.

The Silver Bear Award for the best director went to the German Ulrich Köhler for Schlafkrankheit (The Sleeping Sickness), the Silver Bear Award for outstanding achievements as a director went to Wojciech Staroń for the photography in El Premio and Barbara Enriquez for the screenplay for El Premio, whereas the Alfred Bauer's Award for innovation was won by Wer wenn nicht wir (If Not Us, Who) directed by Andres Veiel.

Dorota Kędzierzawska won the major award in Berlin in the Generation Kplus category for Jutro będzie lepiej.
